Training Day #69

13 06 2012

Week 8, Day 2. (still doing my own thing, though…)

Tonight, I feel like Jello. I pushed myself for my longest run yet, 6.5-miles! It was tough, but doable.

I came back so hungry (since I ran while the rest of my family ate supper) and wolfed down my food. Not the best idea. My stomach was already being plagued by running-induced GI issues and stuffing that food in my gut didn’t help things. đŸ˜¦ I guess that I shouldn’t be surprised that the GI issues returned. Hopefully with my mileage up a bit right now, the issues will go away before the 1/4-marathon on the 23rd. I hope…

Training Day #60

26 05 2012

That’s right, people! I made it to running day six-zero!!! It’s hard to believe that just a few short months ago I couldn’t run to the mailbox without being winded! Wowza!

Week 5, Day 4.

I tried a different route. It was hot. The other problem that I encountered (and have been suffering with all week) is running-induced GI problems. (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then you probably have never experienced it. Severe intestinal crampage + other not so pleasant phenomenon. Still don’t know what I’m talking about — google “runner’s trots.” Yeah, not so fun!) đŸ˜¦ Because of the said GI issues, I had to walk a couple of times along the route or risk some severe consequences that I could feel coming on. I did stop my training for each walk, so in the end I still covered the distance that I wanted to while running I just needed a couple of minute long breaks to do it. I am hoping that I can get this situation under control so that I can continue to stack on the mileage without as much gut-pain. Any suggestions in dealing with this problem would be greatly appreciated!
